Good morning folks. It seems like cold mornings are here for a while. Lets hope that plants get back into their proper rhythms as there seem to be lots of them that do not know the time of year at the moment. During these late Autumn days many gardeners like to ‘tuck up’ their borders by putting a layer of mulch over them. This tidies them up but also has other practical advantages. It can help to keep the ground temperature slightly warmer & if you cover cut-back perennials it keeps them ‘snug as a bug’ for winter. Depending on what you use as a mulch, nutrients can be added to the garden either by leaching out of the mulch to the ground below when it rains or by turning the mulch into the ground in the Spring. This works well on baron allotment plots too. We have a number of products for this job which will suit all types of gardening styles. Whether you wish to just mulch, mulch with something nutrient rich, mulch organically or mulch Peat Free. Whatever your budget, we have something that should suit. Please note that you do NOT have to use a product that has ‘Mulch’ in its description. Mulch merely describes a material that can be spread on the soil to enrich or insulate. Some folks use compost, some use bark but soil improvers & well composted horse manure will do the job too. That is all for this update. Happy Gardening Everyone. 23/11/20

Not many Garden Centres can boast over ninety years of history, and yes, we have seen many changes over that period. Indeed change will continue as we strive always to supply the best in plants and facilities. One thing, however, will never change:
The core philosophy first introduced by Archibald John Mills way back in 1928 remains - the philosophy that built the company’s reputation, sustains it now, and will guide it in the future:
The best way to keep gardeners happy is to offer them plants of the highest quality, sold at reasonable prices.Read more
